En tyngdekraft på en sjettedel, men 100 procent morskab. Sådan er der på Månen, når Eddie Murphy folder sig ud i ”Pluto Nash”. Bevæbnet med sin rapkæftede personlighed og særlige månevåben spiller Murphy hovedrollen i denne højtflyvende action-komedie instrueret af Ron Underwood (Speechless og Mighty Joe Young). Året er 2087, og fremtiden er ikke, hvad den var engang, nu hvor gangstere (bl.a. Joe Pantoliano) lægger pres på Club Pluto, som er den natklub, Nash driver. Men den dristige Pluto har ikke tænkt sig at give afkald på sine aktiver. Med hjælp fra robotlivvagten (Randy Quaid), en håbefuld sangerinde (Rosario Dawson), sin nævenyttige mor (Pam Grier), en håbløs amatør, som er blevet til en superentertainer (Jay Mohr), og flere andre sender Pluto snart hele mafiaen i kredsløb.
